Willi Soukop was born in Vienna and studied at the Academy of Fine Art there.
He moved to the UK in 1934.
One-man exhibitions included the Storran Gallery [1938], Fermoy Gallery [1979] and Belgrave Gallery.
He was a fine teacher and students at Chelsea School of Art included Robert Clatworthy and Elisabeth Frink.
He exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions very regularly from 1935 and is a Royal Academician.
He was a modeller and a carver and the Tate Gallery are one of the many public galleries who hold his work.
