Sir Eduardo Paolozzi was born in Edinburgh and studied at the Slade School of Art.
He was Knighted in 1989.
There is a museum devoted to his art in Edinburgh.
The Tate Gallery have a large collection of his work.
He is regarded as one of the pioneers of Pop Art, but his best work is the sculpture of the 1950s.
