Michael Werner was born in France and came to the UK in 1938. He studied at Atelier 17 in Paris under Stanley Hayter.
 He taught sculpture at the Bath Academy of Art, Corsham.
One-man exhibitions include 3 at Beaux Arts [1950s] and 6 at Annely Juda Fine Art from 1960 to 1989.
The ICA held an exhibition of his wonderful collages in 1974.
Public collections include the Museum of Modern Art [LA] and the Smithsonian Institute [Washington DC].
Roland Penrose and Ernst Gombrich were fans of his work.
